Family, fun, faction
Earthy and entertaining. This is how Mayandi Kudumbathar, a film which has 10 directors in pivotal roles, can be described. The movie, with a strong storyline, has been narrated in a convincing and interesting way.
At a time when mass themes are ruling the roost in Kollywood, Rasu Madhuravan, who himself has tried his hands in Pandi, a commercial entertainer, has dished out a movie which has reality as its core theme.
Families of Mayandi (Manivannan) and Virumandi (G M Kumar), both brothers, get split after a property dispute. Though the family members fight often, Mayandi prevent things from becoming serious.
In Mayandi's family, his younger son Paraman (Tharun Gopi) is the apple of the eye, with his elder brothers (Seeman, Ponvannan and Jagan)
caring for him a lot.
When Paraman completes his studies and gets a good job (fulfilling the dream of his dad), enters the family of Virumandi to settle scores with their cousins. What follows is a touchy climax, the one we have seen many a time in the past.
Each director enough screen space and give their best. Rasu Madhuravan deserves credit for taking the initiative to bring out the
actor in each and every filmmaker.
