Latest Tamil Movie Review
Not all movies touch your heart. But Haridas, the third offering from director G N R Kumaravelan (after Ninaithaley Inikkum and Yuvan Yuvathi) is sure one.
The movie, which is a straight contrast from the filmmaker's earlier ventures, speaks about a child affected by autism and his relationship with his father.
It's a story which has got enough qualities to end up as a docu-drama. But the smartness of the director lies here, as he has woven a racy screenplay around it.
Sivadas (Kishore) is a police officer, who is called as 'encounter specialist'. Topping his mission is to catch Aadhi (Pradeep Rawat), a dreaded gangster.
Sivadas also has a son called Hari (Prithviraj Das). An autisitic child, he is being brought up by his grandmother in village. One day, Sivadas brings him to the city.
Now Sivadas is left with the task to help his son overcome the disability. And coming to his help are Dr Ravi (Yuhi Sethu) and teacher Amudhavalli (Sneha).
Kishore has rightly balanced the role- that of a police officer who is also the father of a autistic child. Sneha shines as a teacher. Haridas should be rated as one of the best movies of the actress.
Child artiste Prithviraj Das is good at emtions, while Yuhi Sethu and Pradeep Rawat are adequate for their respective roles.
Music by Vijay Antony, surprisingly, is less noisy. Cinematography is one of the strengths of the movie. Though there are some lag in the screenplay, Haridas is sure worth a watch.
